The State Division has ordered U.S. embassies to briefly cease scheduling new pupil visa appointments, because the Trump administration works to develop social media screenings for candidates, the newest in a collection of restrictions on worldwide college students.
In a cable dated Tuesday and obtained by CBS Information, Secretary of State Marco Rubio instructed diplomatic posts to not add any extra appointments for pupil and overseas change visas in preparation for the expanded vetting, and to take any unfilled appointments off their calendars. If college students have already scheduled their visa interviews, these can nonetheless go ahead.
