Isla Fisher reacts to ‘Confessions of a Shopaholic’ author Sophie Kinsella’s death at 55

Isla Fisher is remembering her “hero” Sophie Kinsella after the bestselling creator’s dying on the age of 55.

The actress, who starred within the movie adaptation of Kinsella’s hit novel “Confessions of a Shopaholic,” took to social media to pay tribute to the author following the information of her tragic passing.

“I’m so heartbroken that you're gone,” Fisher, 49, wrote on her Instagram Tales on Wednesday.

The “Now You See Me” star returned to the platform moments later to share an extended tribute to the beloved creator.

“Pricey Sophie, you conjured Rebecca Bloomwood, a hilarious flawed dream of a comic book character,” Fisher shared in a second put up. “I used to be fortunate sufficient to step into her footwear and communicate your witty and good phrases.”

Fisher ended her emotional message to Kinsella by thanking the British author for the “magic” she dropped at the world by means of her novels.

The novel spawned 9 extra books and adopted fictional monetary journalist Rebecca Bloomwood amid her adventures in buying, life and past.

A movie adaptation of “Confessions of a Shopaholic,” which was primarily based on Kinsella’s first and second books within the sequence, was launched in 2009 and starred Fisher as Rebecca alongside Hugh Dancy’s Luke Brandon and Krysten Ritter’s Suze.

Kinsella’s household introduced her passing by way of social media on Wednesday.

“We're heartbroken to announce the passing this morning of our beloved Sophie (aka Maddy, aka Mummy),” her family members shared on Instagram. “She died peacefully, together with her last days crammed together with her true loves: household and music and heat and Christmas and pleasure.”

Kinsella first revealed her glioblastoma battle to the world in April 2024.
