A longtime “SportsCenter” anchor is departing the Worldwide Chief.
Stan Verrett is leaving ESPN later this summer time after 25 years with the community, in accordance with a report from Entrance Workplace Sports activities.
ESPN is reportedly not planning to resume his contract.
“We’re grateful for Stan’s many contributions and all he has delivered to SportsCenter over time,” ESPN exec Dave Roberts instructed FOS in an announcement. “We thank him and need him continued success.”
Verrett took to social media on Wednesday after information broke of his departure.
“My life is in Los Angeles is now,” Verrett wrote on X. “Nothing however gratitude for 25 years of dwelling a dream at ESPN. I’m not retiring. Actually excited in regards to the future and a few unimaginable alternatives. Keep tuned.”
Verrett has labored for the corporate since 2000 and served because the 1 a.m. ET “SportsCenter” host since 2009.
He labored alongside longtime co-host Neil Everett in ESPN’s Los Angeles studio for roughly 14 years earlier than the latter stepped away from the community in June 2023.
In March, ESPN introduced it might be shifting the Los Angeles version of “SportsCenter” to its headquarters in Bristol, Conn.
