Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta is cautious of Actual Madrid’s need to signal centre-back William Saliba and has reportedly ramped up talks over a contract extension for the France worldwide.
Saliba’s contract expires in 2027 and Madrid are recognized to have set their sights on the 24-year-old, taking their traditional switch technique by making behind-the-scenes contact within the hope of convincing Saliba to reject an extension and depart for Spain. A cut-price deal in 2026 or a free switch in 2027 are each in Madrid’s imaginative and prescient.
